- Description
- A numerical code named RFPA is used to simulate the fracture process of concrete under static loading. In RFPA, the concrete is assumed to be a three-phase composite composed of matrices, aggregates and interfaces between them. Using this numerical analysis, the effect of slenderness (ratio of height to width) on the deformation and fracture of concrete specimen is numerically simulated and related mechanisms associated with the fracture characteristics are clarified. The numerical result compares well with those observed during the laboratory test of concrete.
